Concentric ring may slip
Monday, 04 August 2003
On Litespeeds and Litesports, the glass tip holder in the outer leading edge relies on two plastic rings for its positioning. There is one concentric ring which is glued inside the leading edge, and another eccentric ring at the outer end of the leading edge which is used for adjustment.

We have sighted a few cases where the concentric ring has broken free from its glued position and moved closer to the eccentric ring. This changes the angle of the glass tip and may produce a turn in the glider.
To fix this situation, ensure that the concentric ring is aligned hard against the clevis pin. To keep the concentric pin in place, some glue or Silastic can be applied to the ring.
We have adjusted our manufacturing procedures to resolve this issue.
