Frequently Asked Questions

The on-line registration page requires a FAI sporting license number.  Is a sporting license a mandatory requirement for competitors or is it only required for those looking for FAI WPRS?  Do you know what the standard procedure is to obtain the sporting license?

For Australian nationality pilots, your sporting licence number is your HGFA membership number. For foreign nationality pilots, your sporting licence number is whatever is printed on your physical sporting licence card. Australian nationality pilots do not need the physical card for Australian comps.

Is insurance included with a short term membership?

Yes, insurance is part of the short term membership.

Is a FAI licence mandatory?

If a pilot wants to be included on the World Pilot Ranking, then they do need a sporting license.

In the case of Australian pilots, we use our HGFA number as a sporting license number, but OS pilots will need to have an actual "sporting license".

There is no problem with someone not having a sporting license, its just that they cannot be scored on the WPR without it.
